Barbara Talley Denniston

barbara denniston

Barbara Talley Denniston, age 61, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at her family’s home in Rocky Branch, just outside of Daingerfield, Texas. She was born on January 20, 1964, to Jack and Adeen Talley.

Barbara was strong-willed, independent, and full of life. She cherished time with her grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in their laughter and love. She loved the beach, soaking up the sun by the pool, and enjoyed the thrill of a visit to the casino. A devoted thrifter, she affectionately referred to her trips to Thrift Giant as her “therapy.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Adeen Talley, and her brothers, Rodney and Gregory Talley.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, David Denniston, of Aubrey, Texas; her son, Rance Falagaipupu and his wife, Shelby, of Mt. Pleasant; her daughter, Shelby Derrick of Mt. Pleasant; and her 10 beloved grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Terri, Sharon, and Betty Ann; and her brothers, Steven, David, and Danny.

Barbara’s strength, warmth, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  Arrangements entrusted to Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

  1. She’ll be dearly missed! Her nieces and nephews aren’t mentioned so I’ll share. She treated us like her children. Her laughter and “hell nah” to when something wasn’t right will be forever in our hearts. She loved to attend her great nieces volleyball tournaments and her great nephews sprint car races. She enjoyed coming to Arizona to visit us. We will truly miss you. ♥️

  2. Candle 8I really wished I had known she only lived in Rocky Branch. Would have love to kept in touch with her. She was a great friend in high school. God be with her family.
