LINDEN Funeral services for Ben Lang Ellington, 84, of Linden will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 9, 2009, at Linden United Methodist Church with Bro. Mark McClanahan officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, Inc. A visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Ellington was born July 31, 1925 in Linden to Samuel and Anna Lee Henderson Ellington and he passed away November 4, 2009 in a Linden hospital. He was a graduate of the University of Texas and attended Cornell University. Mr Ellington served in the Foreign Service-Diplomatic Corp of the U.S. Government, was a member of Linden United Methodist Church, the Linden Lions Club, American Legion and a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Ellington is survived by his wife, Stella Ellington of Linden; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff Ben and Denise Ellington of Bend, Oregon; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Fernando Mirabent of Bend, Oregon; one grandson, Francisco Mirabent of Artesian Lake, Texas; two granddaughters, Giselle Mirabent and Sofia Ellington, both of Bend, Oregon; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
