LINDEN, TX Funeral services for Bette K. Lane, 87, of Bivins, formerly of Marshall, will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden with Bro. Louis Smith officiating. Burial will be at 1:30pm in Algoma Cemetery in Marshall. Mrs. Lane was born July 29, 1923 in Los Angeles, California, to Rudolph and Anna Cotter Kalisher. She passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010 in an Atlanta nursing home. She was a legal secretary for her husband, Walter E. Lane and a home maker. Mrs. Lane was furiously independent and self reliant. She gave her love unconditionally. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jackie Bryant of Bivins; two granddaughters and their spouses, Patricia and Jerry Surratt of Wake Village and Sally and Roy Paul of Linden; four great-grandchildren, Molly Hemphill of Shreveport, Louisiana, Sara Hemphill of Ft. Worth, Christopher Browning of San Diego, California, and Brittany Browning Rhyne of Texarkana, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Lane and a son, Walter C. Lane.
