Betty Law

betty law

Betty Elaine (Fant) Law, 82 years of age and a life-long resident of Linden, Texas, met her Lord and Savior on December 20, 2021. Betty was a faithful servant of God, her community, her friends and her family. Betty knew the true meaning of love and service and spent the better part of her life demonstrating to others the way in which the Gospel teaches us all to be. She served and prayed as easily for those who were suffering and in pain as she did for those who lived blessed and fulfilled lives. Betty drew strength from her church family at First Baptist Church of Linden where she often joined her friends, Janet and Danny Boone and Lou McMinn working to support Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse.

Betty knew a great many things that brought joy into her life, but none so great as the joy of her family. She is survived by her children - Stacy Boucher and her husband David of Atlanta, Texas; Mark Law and his wife Laura of College Station, Texas; Dawn Johnston of Marshall, Texas and Lance Law of Atlanta, Texas. Also among Betty’s loving family are her grandchildren - Jonathan Boucher, Kayla Kitchens, Kameron Kitchens and Monique Howard. Not by blood, but by Betty’s own choosing are her great grandchildren, Paisley and Preston Howard.

In Betty’s final days, she grew to love others who cared for her, made her days happy and helped her live out her life in the place she called home - Sandra Hawley, Brittney Adams, and the nurses and aides of Heritage Hospice and Focused Care.

Visitation for family, friends and the surrounding community will be at 10 am, Thursday, December 23, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Linden with funeral services to immediately follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Betty’s name to Operation Christmas Child Samaritan’s Purse at the First Baptist Church in Linden.

Betty’s final resting place on this earth will be beside her parents, Thomas and Oneida Fant, in Lanier Cemetery - just across the road from what once was her childhood home and her daddy’s general store. As Betty’s family says their final good-bye, Thomas and Oneida will be there to welcome Betty to her new home in Glory.

Momma - you are loved and you will be missed…we will see you again.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Harold Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Lanier Friendship Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.  There will be a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday and lasting until service time.

  2. A Message Of Sympathy For Your Family

May these few words of sympathy help; at least in part; to ease the burden that you bear and the
    Sadness in your hearth

    Rev. & Mrs. Bernice Heath

  3. Betty was a great friend and has been missed dearly by the Ruth Class and church. We have had some great times at our SS parties. She loved her family, church, and friends.Love and prayers to each of you?

  4. As Betty's cousin, her dad and my mom were first cousins, my first memory of Betty was when we moved from Michigan back to Texas when I was in the second grade, and she would have been in the seventh and so grown up in my eyes. Visits to my grandparents, her Aunt Eunice and Uncle John, meant trips to the store usually for penny candy or ice cream bars, To me Betty and her close friend, Barbara Barker, were roll models to aspire to be like them. I can still visualize her wedding and oh so many things over the years. May each of you be comforted at this time of parting. "Martha Lou"

  5. Betty was a classmate and dear friend of mine. I saw her the same way the obit has described her – always! From
School through Life! She will be greatly missed here but Heaven gains one of the Lord’s sweetest saints!
