Bettye Jean Bell was born June 23, 1950 in Douglassville, Texas to her late parents, William B. Bell and Elnora Bell. Bettye attended school at Douglas High in Pan Handle. She later became a faithful member at Williams Chapel Baptist Church in Naples, Texas. Bettye worked  at Linden Hospital and Pilgrim’s Pride Chicken Plant in Mt. Pleasant, Texas until her health failed her. Bettye enjoyed spending time with her family and friends while sharing a good laugh. She enjoyed her five brothers and nine sisters. Bettye departed this life at Saint Vincent Infirmary Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas on February 12, 2022. 

Bettye was preceded in death by her parents; two children; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Jessie Bell and Billy Bell; three sisters, Amelia Parker, Velma Fields, and Gwendolyn James.

She leaves to cherish her memory: four children, Thomas Bell (Natasha Bell) of Atlanta, Texas, Rita Allen (Kenneth Allen) of Queen City, Texas, Cheryl Bell and Flesha Bell, both of Texarkana, Texas; three brothers, Willie Bell (Ruthie Bell) Rickey Bell, Shane Bell; six sisters, Mable Wilson, Lydia McGary, Ruthie Gaston, Sharon Foster, Lashonna Bell, Tamella Dowden (Johnny Dowden); 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one special aunt, Gladys Walker of Texarkana, Texas; special friends, Eddie Walker and Sandra Huey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.  

Services for Ms. Bell will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Williams Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. There will be a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
