Services for Billie Dot Surratt, 77, of Linden will be at 10 AM, Friday, March 16, 2007 at First Baptist Church, Linden, with Bro. Jackie Stanfield and Bro. Don Phelps officiating. Interment will be in Linden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, March 15, at Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home. Mrs. Surratt was born March 3, 1930 in Springhill, LA, and passed away March 12, 2007 in a Longview hospital. On October 11, 1947 she married Aaron Dee Surratt. She was an employee of Benny's Dress Shop for a short time then devoted the rest of her life to being a fulltime wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Linden, and the Mary's Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Dee Surratt and her parents, Louise Linton and Asia Essie Carpenter. Mrs. Surratt is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nila and Jimmy Wall of Marshall; and Gena and Gary Hays of Linden; a grandson and wife, Jeff and Tracy Wall of Katy; granddaughter and husband, Amy and John Bruce of San Marcos; a grandson and granddaughter, Aaron Hays and Brittany Hays both of Dallas. Also, a brother-in-law, Nubbin Surratt; and two sisters-in-law, Jack Surratt and Treece Ferrell all of Linden; and her special friends,"The Golden Girls."
