Born in: Texarkana, Arkansas
Resided in: Linden, Texas

Billie Virginia Love of Linden, Texas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to her family and community. Billie was born on June 23, 1946, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Norman and Kathryn Wright. She was raised in Wake Village, Texas, and attended Texas High School, graduating in 1964.

In August of 1967, she married the love of her life, Rodney G. Love. Their marriage of 58 years was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and devotion. In 1969, Billie and Rodney made their home in Linden, Texas, where they built a life centered on family, faith, and community.

Billie devoted much of her life to serving her community through her work. From 1969 until 1977, she worked at the Cass County Tax Office, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly nature. In 1978, she began her career with Linden-Kildare CISD, where she faithfully served for 30 years. She started as a secretary at the junior high before moving to the administration office, where she worked as the district’s bookkeeper and payroll specialist. Billie was known for her reliability, attention to detail, and the kindness she extended to everyone she encountered. She was also a familiar and welcoming presence in the LK Tiger ticket booth on Friday nights for more than 15 years.

A faithful member of First Baptist Church in Linden for nearly as long as she lived in the community, Billie was active in the church’s Kitchen Committee and faithfully kept Sunday School records for many years.

Billie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cross-stitching, reading, and challenging herself with crossword puzzles, at which she excelled. She also had a passion for cooking and baking, never shying away from trying a new recipe and becoming especially well known for her delicious desserts.

More than anything, Billie treasured her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Rodney G. Love of Linden; her sons, Brian Love and Jason Love and wife Delia; her grandchildren, Cooper and Caitlin Love; her brothers, Jeff Wright, Gary Wright and wife Nancy, and Tommy Wright and wife Paula; her cherished cousin, Richard Thomas and wife Mary; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Billie will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, warm spirit, and the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a lasting impact on all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made in Billie’s honor to the First Baptist Church of Linden Disaster Relief Fund or Kitchen Fund, P.O. Box 179, Linden, Texas 75563. Rodney would especially appreciate this request, as he will not be able to care for them like Billie always did.

Graveside services for Mrs. Love will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

  9. When I was possibly at the lowest time of my life, Mrs. Billie faithfully wrote and mailed me a card every, single week for months. I kept every card. I have often, over the years, gone back and read them. Although I told her many times, I’m not sure she ever really knew the impact that played in my healing. She was an amazing, Godly woman, who I adored. We will be praying for you all. ❤️
