Funeral services for Ms. Billye Rene Shelton, 82, of Daingerfield, Texas, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the chapel Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Burial will take place at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. Ms. Shelton will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Billye Shelton was born on February 8, 1944, in Marion County to Ted Jeffery and Junior Dell Dixon-Jeffery.

Billye accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. She attended school in Marion County and later graduated from Traylor High School.

She was employed at the ammunition plant in Texarkana. Billye relocated to Dallas in 1971 and was employed at Taylor Publishing Company in Dallas, TX. She later transitioned into the semiconductor industry, where she worked as a semiconductor operator for Texas Instruments in Richardson, TX, Mostek United Technologies in Carrollton, TX, and retired from National Semiconductor in Arlington, TX.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, James Shelton; her parents Ted Jeffery and Junior Dell Dixon-Jeffery; one sister, Tessie Turner; two half-sisters; six stepsisters; and five stepbrothers.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Thomas Jeffrey of Garland and Cedric Hannah (Tangia) of Dallas, TX, one stepsister Darlene Austin of Lone Star, TX, one stepbrother Clarence Connally of Dallas, four grandchildren: Bridney Vatin, Cedric Hannah II, Charis Butler and Chloe Higgins; and four great-grandchildren: Danesha, Princeton, Aiden, Kaden, two special nieces; Sanjer Wren and Debra Watson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
