Bobbie Jo Gaston was granted her rite of passage on June 25, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had impacted significantly throughout her very memorable life. She was born July 8, 1942, in Naples Texas to Andrew Smith and Louisa Johnson. She was reared and resided in Naples with her Grandmother Pearlie Williams. She graduated from Carver High School in 1962. Bobbie Jo married Huey W Gaston (Suit), her high school sweetheart. They raised three children together, a daughter and two sons. Bobbies education was diverse and her work fulfilling, however, her career favorite was the medical field. She worked as a Medication Aide staff for a local nursing center over 2 decades. She was an active member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was involved in numerous functions. She was an adamant reader, loved to write stories and poetry as well as spending much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. Bobbie Jo will forever be remembered by her devoted and loving husband HW Gaston of Marietta; three children Mary L Mickens (AW) of Texarkana, Roderick W. Gaston of Marietta, Shaethon Gaston (Tonya) of Dangerfield; three sisters, Margie Hardeman of Naples, Andrenett Hayes Jackson (Charles) of Dallas, Mattie Tolton of Mckinney; two uncles, Ray D Smith of Dallas (Faye), Elsa Smith of Naples; Five sister-in-laws; Joyce Dawson of Marietta, Mertie Summers (Neimiah) and Doris Martin of Texarkana, Jean Gaston (Willie) of Douglassville, Lavern Weaver (Winfred) of Ft Worth; one brother-in-law; Willie Gaston (Jean); Nine grandchildren; One Great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews , other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 1, 2011 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Marietta with Revs. James Boyce and A.J. Summers officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. Mrs. Gaston will lie in state Thursday from 10:00 am unto 8:00 pm with family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Bobbie Jo touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor and determination all the way to the end.

For many years Bobbie worked at the nursing home when my mom was there. She always so kind and pleasant to the residents and the families. She was truly a woman in God's Love. Kathleen Bennington
