Funeral services for Bobby Bruce, Sr.,53, of Hughes Springs will be 1 PM on Friday, May 28, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs with Rev. George M.Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Hughes Springs under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Bruce will lie in state on Thursday, May 27th afternoon and evening at the funeral home. Bobby was born November 10, 1956 in Cass County and passed away May 22, 2010 at his residence. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs. He graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1975 and was employed as a Foreman at Lone Star Steel until he medically retired after 22 years. Bobby was a loving husband, father and was delightful to be around. His presence would always bring excitement and laughter to family and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Keris Alexander; a sister Debra Wilson; father-in-law Thomas Holloman, Sr. and stepfather O.C. Richardson. Bobby leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife of 31 years Dorethea Bruce of Hughes Springs; three sons Eric (Wendy) of Daingerfield, Bobby, Jr. of Grand Prairie and Brandon of Huntsville; his mother Rosie Richardson of Hughes Springs; his father and stepmother Norman and Tannie Bruce of Daingerfield; his mother-in-law Dollie Holloman of Hughes Springs; three brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry and Marilyn Bruce and Ricky and Sheila Bruce all of Hughes Springs and Daryl and Angela Bruce of Temple; four sisters and a brother-in-law Rosie Neal of Hughes Springs, Elaine Evans of Chapel Hill, Charlesetta Bruce of Daingerfield and Debbie and Timothy Juhkle of Rockwall; nine grandchildren Akeshia, Keris, Naerious, Eric, Erika, Elashia, Jacolby, Ashlyn and Kailyn; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Bobby, but know from our conversations that he loves our Lord. We can be comforted in knowing he is in a place that there is no more pain, sorrow or tears and that he is waiting for you and his family.
