Bobby Joe Johnson, 86, of Daingerfield, TX, went to his heavenly home on Friday, January 26, 2024, with his family lovingly by his side.
Bobby was born to Joe and Laura Johnson in Jenkins, TX, on December 18, 1937. He was the fifth of six children: Bartus, Lavelle, Laura Jean, Sarah Belle, and Sue.
In 1957, Bobby married Carol Ann Knight from Rocky Branch. They settled in the Jenkins Community and were inseparable from then on. Five years later, they started their family with the first of three daughters, Melissa, then Pam, and Sheila. As a lifelong member of South Union Baptist Church, he strived to embed the importance of faith in his girls. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and was adored by his family. He proudly served six years in the U.S. Army, then went on to retire from Reilly Tar after 40 years of service.
Most of the time, you could catch him outside tending to his cows and whistling on his tractor. Bobby was a hard worker but also enjoyed a good laugh. He always tried to make others smile. Even in the end, his joking disposition never left him.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Melissa Ann Johns, and four siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Carol, his daughters Pam (Don) Hall and Sheila (Keith) Koudelka, his grandchildren Cody (Katie) Hall, Payton (Hannah) Hall, Miranda (Jeremiah) Born, Jace Koudelka, and five great-grandchildren, Malorie, Tate, Paisley, Otto and Saylor.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at South Union Baptist Church. There will be a time of visitation fromΒ 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Clark Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Thank you so much Susan.
Thank you Evelyn. Love you too.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. It’s always his smile that I remember most when I think of Uncle Bobby. Your tribute has brought tears for your loss but a smile at seeing him smiling through the years.
Love you all.
I am praying for all of you and please give aunt Carol Ann a hug. Iβll miss Uncle Bobbyβs big smile, big hat and seeing him with his cows. I am thankful for the wonderful childhood memories with the Johnsons. Uncle Bobby was a great Christian example and I look forward to the day when I will be reunited with all those who have gone before us. The video tribute was wonderful!
Love, Gail (Johnson) Clay
Sorry to read of your Dadβs passing. Will be thinking of you all.
