Memorial services for Bobby Joe Stewart, 58, of Avinger, formerly of Amarillo, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 13 at Oasis Masonic Lodge #79, located on Cramer Street in Daingerfield, with Rex Bass officiating. Mr. Stewart died Sunday in a Longview hospital. He had worked 30 years at Asarco in Amarillo as a machinist. He was also a master machinist and a substitute teacher in Marshall schools. He was a Master Mason and belonged to the San Jacinto Lodge #1330 in Amarillo, and also was a member of the Daingerfield Order of the Eastern Star #906. Mr. Stewart was a Baptist and was a volunteer fireman for Asarco, Potter County and the City of Avinger. He had earned an associate degree, and he served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of United Steelworkers District 2, Local 05613. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He had three special pets Mysty, Scooter and Babe. Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of 12 years Brenda Stewart of Avinger; two daughters Theresa and Billie of Amarillo; two stepsons Jerry of Pampa and Chad of Chandler; nine grandchildren; and too many family members and special friends to list.

  5. My condolences to Bobby's family. He was a friend and will be missed. I worked with him at ASARCO and with him for the Union (USW Local 5613). He was a very good grievance representative for the Union. We would like to send his family a bible. However, we need an address to send it to. Please send me an e-mail with the address you would like for us to send it to. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
