Funeral services for Mr. Brandon DeShea Connor, age 48, of Mexia, Texas, will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.  Mr. Connor passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Brandon De Shea Connor was born March 8, 1976, to Ms. Joyce Connor in Linden, Texas.  Brandon attended grade school in Jefferson, Texas.  Brandon also attended Kilgore Jr. College in Kilgore, Texas after graduating from high school.  Brandon was employed by McGraw Hill Education Company, while receiving numerous awards of recognition.  Brandon departed this life on October 29, 2024, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia, Texas.  Brandon left this life too soon.

Brandon joined Grimfield Methodist Church Lone Star Tx. at an early age, later attending Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church Lone Star, Texas. He was a member of a Youth Male Chorus named the Christian Warriors under the leadership of his uncle, Rev. Willie Chism. Brandon loved music. He would make music in his bedroom at our home in Lone Star, Texas that they called making beats. Young people from the community and neighboring communities would gather and spread the love among each other. It was a joy to see how they loved each other and their music. He started a music company and was CEO of Switch Hittaz Ent. LLC. He made a single CD named “Street Heat”. He was a wise old soul. Young people would frequently call and come by the house to talk with him for advice with there problems. “Big Shea, my baby boy, you are deeply loved and missed forever.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ms. Rosie Chism-Connor and his uncle Mr. Robert Chism.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Connor of Lone Star, Texas; one brother, Eric (Tanishia) Connor of Lone Star, Texas; aunt Essie Chisom, Lone Star, Texas; uncles, Willie (Bonnie) Chism, Hughes Springs, Texas, W.S. Chism, Hughes Springs, Texas; special friend, Medina Cobb, Mexia, Texas; bonus aunts, Josephine Smith, Raynetta Connor, Loretta Wesson; niece Ja’Khyra Connor, Lone Star; nephew Jarrelius Brown, Hughes Springs, Texas; and a host of cousins and friends.
