LINDEN Funeral services for Carl Leroy Johns, 87, of Linden will be 2:30 PM Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Bingham officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. before the funeral. Mr. Johns was born August 27, 1920 in St. Louis, MO to Earnest Richard and Florence Inman Johns. He passed away December 18, 2007 in a Linden nursing center. He retired after 33 years as Chief Maintenance Electrician for Park Cities Water Plant, worked for Bowie-Cass Electric Coop, was a member of Douglassville United Methodist Church, and loved baseball, hunting, fishing and living in the country. Mr. Johns was a WWII veteran of the Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathryne Morris Johns, of Douglassville; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Randy Robertson of Plano; a daughter, Carolyn Lloyd of Dallas; grandchildren, Gary Robertson of Plano; Holly Stanford and husband, Chris and two great grandsons, Cole and Dylan Stanford of Keller; also, a sister and brother-in-law, Claretta and Gene Worley of Fresno, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Audell Johns, Junior Johns, and Richard Johns and a sister, Dorothy Johns Jarvis. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Douglassville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 26, Douglassville, TX 75560.
