Born in: Naples, Texas
Resided in: Daingerfield, Texas

Carol Ann Johnson, 87, of Daingerfield, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 10, 2026. A woman of quiet strength, a loving heart, and a gentle spirit, Carol lived a life devoted to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that meant the most to her.

Carol was born on February 9, 1939, to Herbert and Dovie Knight. She grew up in the Rocky Branch community as the second oldest of seven children and the only girl among six brothers.

On June 8, 1957, Carol married Bobby Joe Johnson. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and hard work, spending most of their married years in Daingerfield. Bobby adored Carol, and there wasn’t much they didn’t do together. They were more than husband and wife; they were true partners in every sense of the word. Whether they were out working in the pasture or just taking care of things around the place, you could almost always find them side by side. They shared more than 66 years of marriage before Bobby’s passing in January 2024.

Carol was easygoing and good-natured. She never needed much fuss, rarely complained, and just took things as they came. She enjoyed the simple things in life and loved spending time with her family.

She loved sewing and quilting and enjoyed spending time creating things with her own hands. Carol also worked in the cafeteria at West Elementary in Daingerfield, where she made lifelong friends and enjoyed the people she worked with.

More than anything, Carol loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found happiness in watching her family grow. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured the moments they shared.

Carol was a devoted member of South Union Missionary Church, where she and Bobby raised their three daughters, Melissa, Pam, and Sheila. Her love for the Lord was an important part of who she was and how she lived her life.

Carol is survived by her two daughters, Pam Hall and husband Don, and Sheila Koudelka and husband Keith; four grandchildren, Cody, Payton, Miranda, and Jace; and five great-grandchildren, Malorie, Tate, Paisley, Otto, and Saylor. She is also survived by her three brothers, Gerald Knight, Rick Knight, and Tom Knight, along with extended family and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Joe Johnson; her daughter, Melissa Ann Johns; her parents, Herbert and Dovie Knight; and her three brothers, Ronald Knight, Jim Knight, and Charles Knight.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Clark Cemetery in Jenkins, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Clark Cemetery, 599 County Road 1103, Daingerfield, Texas 75638.

Carol leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories that her family will always treasure. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her kindness, and the quiet strength with which she faced each day. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now whole again, at peace with her Lord, and reunited with those she loved who went before her.
