Carol Ann Smith

Funeral services for Carol Ann Smith, 57, of Lone Star, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Carol Ann was born on August 16, 1969, to George and Katherine Whisonant. She passed away on August 20, 2026, at her home in Lone Star.

Carol Ann was a compassionate Christian woman with a heart of gold. She loved everyone she met and had a special way of making people laugh. Funny, spirited, and a bit of a firecracker, Carol Ann brought plenty of personality wherever she went. She was also a hard worker who gave her very best to anything she set her mind to.

Above all, Carol Ann loved her family. She was a loving and devoted wife to Darrell. She cared for him faithfully and took excellent care of him throughout their life together. Her children, grandchildren, and extended family were deeply important to her, and she treasured the time they shared.

Carol Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George and Katherine Whisonant; and her son, Alexander Chandler.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Darrell Smith; her children, Ashley Raye Shaw, Jennifer Reynolds (Austin), Josheua Chandler, Alllisabeth Ankenbaur (Matt), Samantha Hunter (Trevor), and Lauren Treber (Kurt); 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Jennifer Smith (Todd); her brothers, Thomas Whisonant (Jennifer) and Timothy Whisonant (Michele); and numerous other relatives and friends.
