Funeral services for Rev. Curtis F. Shug Hall, 87, of Hughes Springs will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Veal Switch Baptist Church near Hughes Springs with the Revs. Chad Thompson and Ervin Gould officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery near Hughes Springs under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. of Hughes Springs. Bro. Hall will lie in state Thursday afternoon and evening and the family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Bro. Hall died Wednesday, May 23 at an Atlanta hospital. He was born October 3, 1923, in the Cross Roads Community near Hughes Springs. He pastored many area Baptist Churches, and was currently pastor of Linden Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He attended Texas Baptist Institute. Bro. Hall worked many years at Reilly-Tar. He preached hundreds of funerals and worked for many years as a director for Reeder-Davis Funeral Home more than half a century. He is survived by his wife Hazel Lee Black Hall of Hughes Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law Rita Lynn and Donny Anderson, and Linda and David Adams; two sons and daughters-in-law Curtis Alan and Beth Hall and Carroll Wayne and Pam Hall, all of Hughes Springs; two sisters Ouida Blair and Orpa Hall, both of Hughes Springs; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
