Death is not an end For it begins a fuller life, When we see God face to face Where there is no strife. Mr. D. E. Evans was born, March 21, 1946, to the parentage of Dan and Clara Evans. The angel of silence entered D. E.s life on May 8, 2013. He was a quiet devoted member of Shady Grove Christian Church and was a long time employee of Lone Star Steel , in Lone Star, until retirement. He united in marriage to Franciel Evans for 38 years; together they raised four children. His parents, Clara and Dan Evans preceded him in death; also one of his sister Emma Jean, and one grandchild, Jevon Jetter. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Franciel Evans, of Avinger; two daughters, Stephanie (Victor) Chism, of Hughes Springs, and Lekeia (Johnathon) Marsh, of Dothan, Alabama; three sons, D. E. Evans, Jr., of Texarkana, Danny Evans, of Atlanta, and Derick Jones, of Hughes Springs; six sisters, Emma Faye Evans, of Lone Star, JoAnn Evans, of Hughes Springs, Martha Shaw, of Plana, Jane Evans, of Lone Star, Gloria Smith, of Lone Star, and Rosie Gasaway, of Lone Star; and a host of grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Shady Grove Christian Church, with Rev. Jesse Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8, Friday evening, at the funeral home.
