Dale Fails

Funeral services for Mr. Dale Fails, 71, of Gilmer, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Interment will follow at Ore City Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends beginning one hour prior to the service Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Dale Fails was born on November 20, 1954, in Post, Texas and peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 17, 2026.

Dale was a man who believed in honest work, cherished his family and friends, and never met a stranger for long. He faithfully dedicated more than 40 years of his life as a Millwright at Lone Star Steel, a profession he truly loved. Working with his hands wasn’t just a job—it was a gift.

When he wasn’t at the mill, Dale found joy in the country life. He loved riding horses, working on the farm, and enjoying the freedom of the open road on his Harley-Davidson. Those who knew him best also knew he was a wonderful storyteller. Dale had a way of bringing people together with his many funny stories, keeping everyone laughing with his wit, humor, and unforgettable experiences. His stories will be treasured and retold for years to come.

Most importantly, Dale accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early in life. In his later years, he recommitted his life to Christ, walking in renewed faith and finding peace in God’s grace.

Dale was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clarence Fails and Forrest Fails.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings, Jo Ann Ward, Freida Hunt, and Wil Fails; his daughters, Christy Fails and Selina Bush; his beloved grandchildren, Michelle Fails and Kya Bush; his precious great-grandchildren, Sebastian Carrion, Luna Carrion, and Morgan Marroquin; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.

Though Dale has laid down the tools of this life, the work of his hands, the strength of his character, the laughter from his stories, and the love he shared with those around him will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
