  1. Dear Dalton Hitt Family and All,I grew up in Newsome with the Hitt family. Dalton helped we build a toy airplane, and James taught me to ride a bicycle. And Fred and Cecil were always nice to me, even tho I was a mean little kid, sort of. I remember playing checkers and dominoes with Mr. Herman at John Tom's filling station.I got to Viet Nam not long after Dalton left. I met some troops at a commucations site who had worked for Dalton when he was at Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Saigon. His nickname was "Stretch."Really good memories of the Hitts during those Newsome years.Up Flag! Salute!! God Rest His Soul!!!And life goes on.Ken Loveless Newsome 1941-1952
