Guestbook

  1. Gramps, you were so many things to so many people, you where my grandpa, my friend, a mentor and most of all, my hero. I will miss you terribly. You set such a wonderful example for your family by how you lived, how you loved us, how you worked so hard and how you cared for others. Thank you for your unconditional love. I wrote this poem for you, to let everyone know how I feel about you.Why do we Cry?Some say it is weakness, others say it is fear. Why do we cry?Why do we shed our tears? We are haapy you are in Heaven,Now at home with Jesus. But we cry because we miss you,we want you here with us.When we gather around the tableto celebrate another year,Gramp's won't be with us,that's why we shed our tears. When Gram makes a famous mealor some of her special tea,Gramp's won't be there to enjoy it,that's why we shed our tears. When the Russell boys gather in the field, with some hay that's needin' hauled,Gramp's won't be there to help us, that's why we shed our tears. When it's time to go fishin'and catch them big ole cats,Gramp's won't be there to reel 'em in,that's why we shed our tears. When the garden planting is over, and the picking time is near, Gramp's won't be there to do it,that's why we shed our tears. When the toys need fixin'or the grandkids want to play,Gramp's won't be there with us,to help and save the day. There are so many memories, and you've always been there. So how do we face tomorrowwithout you there? So now you see, this is why we cry.It is not weakness or fear.It is our love for Gramp's,that makes us cry, that's why we shed our tears.Go rest high on that mountain Gramps, you deserve the rest. I love you, Randy
