LINDEN, TX Funeral services for Darathy Nell Swift, 81, of Linden, will be at 2:00pm, Sunday, October 24, 2010 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden with Bro. Jackie Stanfield officiating. Interment will follow in Linden Cemetery. A visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Swift was born February 27, 1929 in Mooringsport, Louisiana, to Wink Elder and Minnie Willtrout Elder. She passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in a Longview hospital. She was employed with Swift Jewelers in Linden, a member of the DAV and First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles Swift of Linden; two sons and daughters-in-law, Butch and Gail Swift of South Lake, Texas, and Danny and Pam Swift of Longview; two aunts, Opal Harris and Helen Tramell, both of Lone Star, Texas; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Bryant, Lisa, Celena, Brent, and Tricia: 13 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

  6. It was clear to me yesterday that my Mamaw touched many lives. It is so easy to be selfish and want her here with us. But as Big Granny so wisely said, our loss is heaven's gain. I love my Mamaw and will miss her very much!
