Funeral services for Darnell Johnson, 83, of Daingerfield, will be at 11 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Daingerfield with Rev. D.A. Hill officiating. Burial will be at Daingerfield Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Johnson was born on April 12, 1926 in Morris County to Grandy and Dora Jones and died on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at a Hughes Springs nursing home. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include two nephews Arthur L. Jones and William Jones both of Daingerfield; a devoted friend Ardelle Traylor; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and the entire New Hope Church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her husband William of 61 years. Visitation will be on Friday, September 4th afternoon and evening at the funeral home in Hughes Springs.

    Years ago my parents made the decision that when their time came they wanted Reeder Davis to handle their burial services, So as hard as it is to lose your parents their time to go did come and when it did, We relied on Reeder Davis to help our family through the arrangements that needed to be made and all I can say is their commitment, compassion and their understanding made such a difficult process much easier. Our funeral director Amy, from our first meeting to our last was so kind, She shared in our laughter of funny memories and she shared in our tears seeing our grief. My sister suddenly passed away a month after my dad and again, Kris and Amy were there to help us and we were so grateful. Kris, Thank you for the care you gave to us and for being so kind and thoughtful. I will never forget everything that all of you did for my family .

Chris is so caring and thoughtful and was able to help me make it through the entire process of caring for Keith and my family until the final burial.
