Funeral services for David Charles Landers, 69, of Avinger, will be on Friday, February 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with Rev. James Rawlins officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Hughes Springs under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Landers was born on May 20, 1939 in Dallas, TX to Robert and Lillian Landers and died on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at his home. Mr. Landers was the owner of Dallas Professional Security, Inc. He was a Baptist and a member of the Police and Sheriff Association. Survivors include his wife Dale of Avinger, TX; three sons David W. Landers of Dallas, TX, Chris Lyles of Jacksonville, FL and Bobby Lyles of Irving, TX; one daughter Lisa McRorey of Dallas, TX; three sisters Norma Campbell of Hughes Springs, TX, Sharon Pults of Euless, TX and Betty Stamm of Joshua, TX; seven grandchildren Lynzee, Cortnie, Coleby, Dakota, Tyler, Brittany, Cheyanna; two great grandchildren Skylar and Logan David; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Landers will lie in state on Thursday, February 5th and the family will receive friends from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
To Sue, David and Lisa. I want you to know how sorry I am for the loss of David. All of you have been in my prayers for the last few months. Time will heal the loss but never the memories. All my love, Arleen
