David Doby was born October 24, 1959 in Lone Star and passed away Friday, June 4, at his residence. He was born the second child to Joe and Mary Ann Jackson in a family full of love. Doby was known by family and friends for his giving personality. He had a passion for the outdoors and spent much of his time in the woods. He is survived by his wife Jametta Jackson of Avinger; his mother Mary Ann Jackson of Avinger; his brothers and sisters-in-law Dennis Jackson of Avinger, Danny and Christina Jackson of The Woodlands and Brian and Dedra Jackson of Athens; a sister and brother-in-law Julia and Chad Baird of Hughes Springs; uncle W.A. Jackson of Gladewater; aunts Ruth Howard of Ore City, Jane Johnston of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Joe Jackson and a nephew Matthew Jackson.

  3. Childhood memoriesI remember always looking forward to going to visit Doby and the rest of the family as a young boy. He is a cousin of mine, but I felt like a brother when we went to "run the woods" on our visits. We walked the woods around his home, and hunted, and had some of the best times of my childhood. I will always have those good memories of him. He will be dearly missed.
