Derrick (BB) Peters

derrick peters

September 26, 1968 ~ November 2, 2024

Born in: Mt. Pleasant, Texas
Resided in: Tewksbury, Massachusetts

On September 26, 1968, a handsome baby boy was born to the late Bobby W. Peters and Maudie Peters in Mt. Pleasant, TX.  Derrick united with God at Shady Grove Christian Church at the age of 7, Pastor A.O. Sasser baptized him and his brother, Kirbian “Pat” Peters on the same Sunday.  Derrick was always eager to attend Sunday School and church getting his foundational teaching of how to be a servant of God.

He attended Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD, graduating in the top 10 of his class. He was a member of the Mighty Blue Tiger Football team and track team.

After high school graduation, he attended East Texas State University in        Commerce, TX, where he continued to excel academically, pledged Sigma, and sang in the Gospel Choir @ ETSU.  Derrick loved the Lord, and he knew the Will of the Lord, always giving all honor and praise to God for blessing him     throughout his life, traveling and his many successful achievements. While        attending ETSU, Derrick began working part-time at Siemen’s Company of      Arlington, TX, then transferring to Houston with the Siemen Company.

Derrick traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad, serving as Finance Director of Siemens’ Accounting Department.  He never met a stranger and never forgot where he came from.

Derrick took Spanish at D-LSISD and became very fluent in Spanish. During his travels with his job, he self-taught himself several languages (French, German, and Italian).  He always wanted to understand and communicate what different companies were proposing without any misunderstanding and mismanagement.

Derrick (B.B.) was preceded in death by his father, Bobby W. Peters, grandparents, Henry L. and Frankie Peters, George E. and Corethea Suggs, Aunt Margaret Peters, Uncle Gary Grant and aunts, Eddie Peters and Shirley Traylor Beard.

His precious memories will be cherished by his son, Isaiah Zarate Peters of      California, his loving, kind and “best bud”, his mother, Maudie Peters, brother Kirbian D. “Pat” Peters (Althea) of DeSoto, TX, sister, Waverly M. Peters of   Dallas, TX, special friend and nephew, LaQutis J. Peters (Ashley) of Forney,   special childhood friend, Jada Chism, four nieces, two nephews, one great nephew, and other family members.
