Born in: Dallas, Texas
Resided in: Avinger, Texas

Donald Dodson, 68, of Avinger, Texas, passed away on May 13, 2026. He was born on April 12, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, to Leslie Dodson and Billie Joyce Pockrus Dodson.

Donald was the kind of man who lived life wide open. Whether he was riding motorcycles with his wife, Lera, spending time at the drag races, or sitting with family swapping stories, he was happiest doing things his own way and surrounded by the people who mattered most to him. He was tough, strong-willed, and carried a big heart beneath that rough biker exterior. His family was his pride and joy, and nothing meant more to him than being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He also shared a special bond with his loyal emotional support dog, DeeDee, who rarely left his side.

Donald was a member of the 1st Bikers Church in Texarkana, where he found friendship, faith, and fellowship among people who understood the road he traveled.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Dodson and Billie Joyce Dockrus Dodson; and his sister, Brenda Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Lera Beth (Carr) Dodson; his children, Jeff Dodson (Jennifer), Kristina Dodson (Chuckie Swartz), Donnie Dodson (Nikkie), Dustin Dodson (Katie), and Marshal McIntosh (Candice); his brothers, Leslie Dodson (Debbie), Robert Dodson, and Terry Dodson; his grandchildren, Alyssa Arnold, Gullian Arnold, Matthew King, Michael King, Trey Dodson, Josie Dodson, Lelo Dodson, River Dodson, Ezra Dodson, Caleb McIntosh, Shianne McIntosh, Alexxys McIntosh, Zoey McIntosh, and Jamison McIntosh; and his great-grandchildren, William King and Emerson Cullipher.

The family will hold a celebration of Donald’s life at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
