Donald Glen Rhyne, 72, died July 6, 2023, at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born May 2, 1951, in Linden, Texas, the son of Roy B. and Hallie G. (Watson) Rhyne.

Donald graduated from Linden-Kildare High School, Class of 1969. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany during 1971-1973. He married the love of his life, Debbie Wenzel, and they settled in Linden, Texas. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary September 25, 2022. He was predeceased by his father, Roy B. Rhyne and grandsons, Liam Rhyne and Finn Rhyne.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Hallie (Watson) Rhyne; are his wife, Debbie (Wenzel) Rhyne; his sons, Jeremy Rhyne and his wife, Alicia of Kildare, and Justin Rhyne and his wife, Carly, of Wake Village; three grandchildren, Ryker Rhyne, Vivyanne Rhyne, and Kove Rhyne (to be welcomed October 2023). Donald was an avid sports fan and coached Little League Baseball. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and the beauty of plants and flowers, being known for his success as a gardener. He and Debbie were members of First Baptist Church, Linden, Texas.

Graveside services for Mr. Rhyne will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Monday evening at the funeral home.
