Donna Green

Funeral services for Donna Elaine Green, 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Green was born April 16, 1936. She passed away August 23, 2026.

Donna was a hardworking country woman who lived simply, loved deeply, and spoke plainly. She was astute, thorough, and diligent in everything she undertook. She enjoyed working with her hands and made many beautiful quilts, both for her family and to sell. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her family. She loved to sing and was always happiest when her “babies” (her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren) came to visit.

Donna was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City, Texas, and she was never hesitant to speak about her faith. During the final months of her life, she faithfully shared John 3:16 with everyone who came to see her. It was her personal ministry and her way of sharing the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Green; and her daughter, Neva Joyce Hooper.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Williams and wife Donna of Center, Texas, and Billy Green of Hughes Springs; her son-in-law, John Hooper of Leesburg, Texas; her grandchildren, Melissa Ramirez, Theresa Hester and husband Ritchie, Jo Dawn Compte and husband Robert, Jeremy Williams and wife Destiny, Belinda McKeever and husband Derek, Billy Green and wife Tiffany, Cora Letts and husband Matt, and Ashley Arredondo and husband Jose; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
