Dorcie L. Smith LINDEN Dorcie Leane Smith, 92, of Linden passed away September 29, 2008 in an Atlanta hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 2, 2008. at Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home Chapel in Linden with Bro. Darrel Williams officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery. A visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith was born March 12, 1916 in Zafra, Oklahoma to Marion Whit and Vienna Hopper Nelson. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Sherman K. Smith; two children, Delano Smith and Bonnie Marie Smith; three brothers, Lewis Baker, Floyd Nelson, and Ed Nelson; two sisters, Pasquenna Nelson and Fay Nelson; a grand daughter, Glory Masters and a great-grand daughter, Kimberly Hawthorne. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dueane and Diane Smith of Linden, Carl and Martha Smith of Smithville, Oklahoma, and Wade Smith of Linden; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jewel and Wes Donica and Judy and Ricky Steed, all of Mt. Vernon, and Narvonna and Bill Hawthorne of Marshall; one special adopted son, Max Simons of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Curt Nelson of Oregan; two sisters, Oleta Dossey of Oregan and Eunice Lyons of Oklahoma; 51 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
