Memorial services for Dr. Bro. Ben Benjamin L. Pippin will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 20 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester Howlett officiating. Dr. Pippin was born June 25, 1928 in Tahoka, Texas and passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 in a Pittsburg hospital. He received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree from Smith Bible Institute and masters degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, both in California. He preached 45 years , was a Chaplain for Redondo Beach Police Department in California and more recently was minister at Turkey Creek Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club and a Master Mason. He is survived by one son Benjamin L. Pippin, II of Daingerfield; one sister Louise Howlett of Hughes Springs; two brothers and sisters-in-law Wiley and Margaret Pippin of Hughes Springs and Nate and Hazel Pippin of Greenville and Ruby Pippin, also of Greenville; two grandsons David and Leah Dixon of Tyler and Jason and Crystal Dixon of Kyle; one great grandson David; one great granddaughter Alexis; a companion Kelly Vaughn of Daingerfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Billie Pippin; his parents James W. and Julia Pippin; one daughter Bene Dixon; a sister Opal Solsbee, and a brother J.W. Pippin.

You may remember me (or not), from November 1990, when Mrs.Pippin and my father where in Good Shepherd in Longview. We spent many hours in ICU waiting room, and later just in the hospital. Just wanted you all to know that I many fond memories of Mr.Pippin.May he rest in peace and God's grace will be with each of you.Sherry McAlister
