HUGHES SPRINGSServices for Eddie D Peters, 67, of Cason, will be 11:00 Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Daingerfield-Lone Star Auditorium with Rev. Alfred Key, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, Cason, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Peters died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at her residence. Eddie D. Peters (Curlie) was born May 7, 1940 to the late Edward Anderson and Rosie Peel Hood and the late Henry and Ethel Mason of Daingerfield. Eddie was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence (Johnie) Hurndon and Pinkie Lou (Eugene) Baker. Eddie was a faithful member of Faith Temple COGIC and was a true believer in God. She worked for Daingerfield ISD for over 30 years and was a friend to all and adored by many. She was a true shopper of Wal-Mart and Brookshires where she was well known by all with her comp ads. Others knew her from her pies and jelly, especially her famous egg and coconut pies we all come to love. Eddie loved to cook and every Sunday she did just that for her family and the community. She served on the Food Committee, Gift Committee, and the Young Women Helping Hands at the Faith Temple Church of God In Christ. Eddie Peters leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 49 years, Henry S. Peters of Cason; five children, Calvin (Trisha) Peters of Mt. Pleasant, Beverly (Robert) Chism of Lone Star, Carl (Prescilla) Peters of Daingerfield, Barbara Peters of Daingerfield, and Steve (Chandra) Peters of Leesburg; sisters, Earlie Mae (Leroy) Wilkerson of Greenville and Alice Faye Stanton of California; adopted brother, Henry J. (Kiema) Barber of Daingerfield; uncle, William (Margaret) Jones, four aunts, Maggie Lou Turner of Houston, Ruby Owens of Pittsburg, and Ersulene Hurndon and Orvella Garrett of Daingerfield; father-in-law, Henry L. Peters of Daingerfield; sister-in-law, Margaret (Guy) Grant of Daingerfield, sister-in-law, Shirley Beard of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law, Bobby (Maudie) Peters of Daingerfield, brother-in-law, Billy (Nancy) Smith of Grand Rapids, MI, and brother-in-law, Billy Charles Peters of Longview; 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friend, Flora James of Daingerfield. Viewing and visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.
