Services for Effie Cheatham, 96, of Hughes Springs will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Love Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Marion Hartfield, officiating. Burial will follow at Love Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Cheatham died Friday, March 16, 2007 at her residence. She was born April 10, 1910 to Boyz and Mattie Young. She was born in Cass County, Texas. Mrs. Cheatham was a lifetime member of Love Chapel Baptist Church. She attended school at Carterville, Texas. She was a loyal and dedicated member of the Love Chapel Heroines of Jericho Court # 429. Effie united in marriage to Wesley Clifton Cheatham, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jimmy, two sisters, Leatha and Patsy, one niece whom she raised as her own, Mattie Lee and one great-nephew, Ricky whom she also raised. Effie had a loving heart, her doors were always open to whomever came into her life. She always had a warm loving smile to welcome you. She gave freely and did not mind sacrificing in order to help others. Effie leaves to cherish her love, her son and devoted daughter-in-law, Freddie and Betty Cheatham of Hughes Springs; one brother, Earnest Young of Dallas, Texas; four granddaughters, Renee', Garnishia, Romonda, and Shimon; three grandsons, Falando, DeJuan, and Dondre'; and a special cousin, B.J. Horn and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.
