LINDEN Anna Elizabeth Vaughan, 70, of Linden passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in a Hughes Springs nursing center. She was born July 4, 1938 in Linden to Guy and Ellen Surratt Wilbanks. She was former owner of Vaughans Catfish Restaurant, Vaughans Tomato Relish and was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church. Survivors included three sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Tammy Boles of Pittsburg, Gary and Sherry Boles and Darrell and Kristy Vaughan all of Linden; one daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Michael Sharp of Jefferson; three step daughters and spouses, Debbie and Bill Henson of Atlanta, Cyndy and Joey Chamblee of Queen City, and Glenda Mason of Texarkana; two brothers and sisters-in-law, ONeal and Mozelle Wilbanks of Linden and Emmett and Ann Wilbanks of Commerce; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Myrtle and Doug Sample of Pittsburg, Margie and Larry Elliot and Mildred Jack Surratt, all of Linden; 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Vaughan. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Linden with Bro. Kyle Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Center Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 15, 2008 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to The Springs activity fund, 704 Taylor Rd., Hughes Springs, TX 75656.

  5. I became friends with your mom as we discussed family geneology and she shared family photos with me. Before that I just knew she was kind to me and knew my dad. Afterwards, she was such an inspiration and joy. We laughed, shared, and had a blast. I regret I didn't get to go back and visit again before you lost her.
