Burial will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Mrs. Adams will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ella Vernice Adams was born February 16, 1944 in Gilmer, Texas to the parentage of Arnelia Mae Johnson Golden and Edward Browning, both deceased. She received her early education at Bethlehem Schools and graduated from Bruce High School.

At an early age, by the side of her grandmother, Maggie Johnson (deceased), she accepted     Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. In the late 70’s and early 80’s she served as Pastor’s Aide and had many great meals ready for Pastor L.J. Haskins and family following Sunday services.

Early in life she met Arthur “Pete” Adams and probably had no idea that fate would bring them together as soulmates. They fell in love and    September 25, 1975 they entered into blissful matrimony. Together they fed many people   physically and spiritually.

Mrs. Ella transitioned into “Glory” on January 26, 2018 at 5:42 a.m.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandmother; and son, Eric F. Lynn, Sr.

She leaves to celebrate her life: husband of 43 wonderful years, Mr. Arthur “Pete” Adams; son, Berry Lynn (Yolana); two daughters, Angenetta Johnson-Evans (Dusty) and Lisa C. Venters (Lonnie); grandchildren, Mesha, Lil Eric, Corey, Donyale, Charlene, Ashley, T.D., Davion, Bryce, Tre, Brandon, and Trodarious; sisters, Linda Jones, Mattie McNeal (Sylvester), Lillian Jackson (Narvis), Lavern Williams (Davis), Candy Abron (J.T.), Donna Lawton (Tracy); brothers, Buford Jones, Sr. (Sharon), Mike Jones, Avery Jones,  Perry Gordon (Shonda), Pat Gordon; daughter-in-law, Edalene Lynn.
