Funeral services for Eva Mae Davis, 95, of Avinger, will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Warlock-Rocky Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Mims Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc., of Hughes Springs. Eva M. Connor Davis was born in Marion County, Jefferson, Texas to the late Bryant and Augusta Connor. She united with Warlock Methodist Church in her youth. She served as Sunday school teacher, Tribe leader and treasurer for twenty four year. She was a dedicated member until her health failed. Eva attended school at Warlock in Marion, County, Jefferson, TX, and Valley View High School in Gilmer, TX. On December 20, 1938 Eva and the late Earnest Davis were united in Holy Matrimony. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and her loving husband of fifty four years and eighteen days. She leaves to cherish her memories: Seven nieces: Ruby (Al) Ferguson, Los Angeles, Ca. Evelyn Delcambre, Stockton, Ca. Sheron (Glen) Morrow, Allen, Tx., Dorothy J. Connor, Plano, Tx., Betty (Freddie) Cheatham, Hughes Springs, Tx., Vanessa Campbell, Longview, Tx., and Nita Malone, Carrollton, Tx.; Five nephews: Joe A. (Nora) Connor, Richmond, Ca., Samuel H. Connor, Mims, Tx., Alfred (Annie) Connor, Jr., Jefferson, Tx., Arthur B. (Linda) Connor , Longview, Tx., and Ronald Connor, Longview, Tx.; a number of great, great great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
