Funeral services for Fama Louise Burleson, 88, of Hughes Springs, will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 31, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc., of Hughes Springs. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, December 30, 2011 at the funeral home. Mrs. Burleson was born January 7, 1923 and passed away December 27, 2011 at her home. She was a member of Eastern Star and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs where she taught Sunday School in the childrens department for 18 years. She was president of Young At Heart for three years and a charter member of Modern Study Club. Mrs. Burleson strongly believed in education and was proud of the fact that all four of her daughters were college graduates. Fama Burleson is survived by four daughters, Kay Breazeale and husband Kenneth, Charlot Morgan and husband Keith, Beri Penny and husband Steve, all of Hughes Springs and Kim Erdy of Helotes, TX; ten grandchildren Travis Breazeale, Traci Delaney, Randy Penny, Drew Morgan, Chad Penny, Braden Morgan, Becca Vaughn, Seth Penny, Ryan Erdy, Lauren Erdy; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Wayne Burleson; two infant sons Wayne and Bruce; one grandson Trevor Kyle Penny; her parents Joseph and Jesse Finley; and seven brothers.   3. Mrs.Burleson was a big part of my childhood as I was very close friends with Kim. I will always remember her kindness and how welcome she made me feel whenever I visited the house. She certainly raised very wonderful women and I know that she will be greatly missed and my thoughts are with her family

Here bread and pies were always a welcome treat. How she always made you feel as part of her family. I'm honored to know that I could call here Granny.
