Forest E. Woods

April 11, 1949 ~ October 23, 2024
Forest E. Woods, affectionately known as “Crack,” was born on April 11, 1949, in Jefferson, Texas. He was raised in Cason, Texas, by his parents, the late Otis James Sr. and Willie Mae (Robertson) Woods. God called Forrest home on October 23, 2024
Forest was a man of deep character and humility. Though he did not receive a formal education, he was a hard-working man, dedicating many years to Pilgrims. Known for his simple joys, Forest had a love for dipping snuff, watching Western movies, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Despite never marrying or having children, Forest had a heart full of love for his family, friends, and community. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Edward Duncan Jr. (“Kilroy”); his sisters Debra Ector and Lillie “Nay” Morrow; and his nephew Keelyn Lee.
Forest leaves behind cherished memories with his surviving family: his brothers, Otis James Woods Jr. (“Junebug”) and Jerry Woods; and his sisters Marshalene McMillan, Cheryl Lee, and Judie Williams. He will be dearly missed by his special nieces Shanndolyn and Shunealdolyn Morrow, Tamiko Lee, Shatedra and Sharon Carlock, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Forest loved to talk to Amber Key and had special friendships with Valerie Wilburn and Marilyn Criss, whom he held close to his heart.
Though Forest has been called home, his presence will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His laughter, his kind spirit, and his love for those around him will not be forgotten.

I will not cry for him or feel sad because he’s is living his eternity. I will celebrate his life because I have no doubt that his permanent residence now is glorious. He will be missed but I am comfortable knowing that my brother is in a lot better place than I am right now.
