Funeral services for Thomas Gary Head, 64, of Scott, AR, formerly of Hughes Springs, TX, will be 2 PM Friday, May 7th at Reeder-Davis Chapel with Rev. Ralph Hale officiating. Burial will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Head passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in Arkansas. He was born August 31, 1945 at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana to the late Everett and Imogene Smires Head. Gary attended school in Hughes Springs and graduated from Kilgore College. His long employment career included retirement from Lone Star Steel and subsequent retirement from Orkin Pest Control in Texarkana, Texas. He served in the Air Force Reserves at Barksdale. Gary was a Christian and will be greatly missed by a host of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Erma Dale Head of Scott; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Shane and Lisa Head, Jason and Jennifer Head, Brett Head, all of Texarkana, TX, and Adam and Lindsey Head of Nash, TX;and eight grandchildren Blake, Ryan, Brandon, Alison, Reagan, Kelsey, Cheyne and Cason; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Donna Head of Atlanta, Texas; one nephew and niece-in-law Jon and Tammy Head of Atlanta, TX; and a number of other relatives. The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to MDA, Carolyn McNutt, University of Arkansas Medical School, Dr. Stacey Rudniki, and nurse Deborah Fewell and Odyssey Hospice of Arkansas.   2. Gary and I were friends in grade school. I moved from Hughes Springs in 1957 and we lost touch with each other. Was so happy to read the part that said Gary was a Christian. I will see him again someday. May God Bless you all in this time of great loss and sorrow.
