Graveside services for Genevieve H. Aycock, 99, of Avinger, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday , June 1, 2011 at Avinger Cemetery in Avinger , Texas under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc., of Hughes Springs. Mrs. Aycock will lie in state on Tuesday from 10:00 to 5:00 at the funeral home. Mrs. Aycock was born on July 22, 1911 in Gilmer, TX and died on May 30, 2011 at a nursing home in Hughes Springs. She was a retired school teacher of 33 years and had taught at Mims, Avinger and Hughes Springs schools. She was a member of Avinger United Methodist church and she loved the Lord. She is preceded in death by her husband Edmund Sweety Aycock. She leaves to cherish her memory: one son and daughter-in-law, Lee Salty Edmund and Marion Aycock; one grand son and grand daughter-in-law, Andy Edmund and Angie Pitts of Hughes Springs; one grand daughter and grand son in law April E. and Christopher Grogan of Avinger, Texas; six great grand-children Murandi Aycock, Trinity Aycock, Andrew Grogan , Asher Grogan, Brooklyne Bond, and Rondy Bond, In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Avinger ISD Library.

This saddens me. Ms. Aycock was my second grade teacher. I remember so much about that year. She was a wonderful woman. My sympathy goes out to the family. Prayers are with you
