Glen Edward Morrow

April 22, 1957 ~ March 8, 2021
Glen Edward Morrow was born to the union of Otis James and Elma Ree Morrow of Lone Star, Texas on April 22, 1957. He was one of 6 children born of that union.
At an early age Glen began his walk of faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Ore City, Texas. He later joined Rock Island AME Church in Lone Star, Texas and attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. He completed his formal education at Friendly Jr High School in Harleton, Texas. After briefly attending Harleton High School he would graduate from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Texas in 1975.
Soon after graduation, Glen enlisted in the United States Army. Glen proudly served his country as a Communications Specialist in Germany. After serving his first term he returned to Lone Star, Texas where he met his future wife. Glen was united in holy matrimony with Sheron Connor on October 13th, 1981. Glen was the proud father of Tashina and Glen Emory.
In 1982, Glen and Sheron moved to Dallas, Texas. Glen's passion for community and strong work ethic were evident as he worked for the City of Richardson, Haliburton Energy Services, UPS and Ecolab Inc. Glen retired from Ecolab Inc., in April 2019 and devoted his time to his family especially his grandchildren. He doted on his grandsons and they were his world.
In his leisure, Glen loved cheering for his beloved San Francisco 49ers including his good-natured teasing of Dallas Cowboy fans, cookouts and traveling. Fellowshipping with family and friends were treasured times.
Glen is proceeded in death by his father Otis James. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Sheron, mother Elma Ree, siblings James Edward (Cynthia), Morris, Teresa (Ricky), Leonard and Loretha (Howard). Daughter Tashina and son Glen Emory, three grandsons Caden, Cristian and Camdyn, goddaughter Ebony Jackson and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Murry League Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mount Pilgrim Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. Morrow will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
