Born in: Houston, Texas
Resided in: Linden, Texas

Glenna Carol Riddle McElhaney, was born December 28, 1950, in Houston, Texas, to Lindon and Iwana Kellum Riddle.  She was the youngest of 5 children. She married LeRoy McElhaney in Charleston, SC on November 23, 1973. They divorced six years later on November 21, 1979. She did not have children and never married again. She eventually moved back to Texas, living in Hughes Springs first, near her brother, Eddie. Later she moved to Linden where she remained until her death. She passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at her home in Linden.
Glenna was a feisty lady and didn’t mind showing it! She recently ordered a pair of black shoes with rhinestones and said she could now be a “rhinestone cowgirl”. She was Church of Christ by faith.  She loved her family and prayed for them constantly.  After many months of being ill and being in and out of hospitals, the good Lord gave her wings.  She can walk, talk easily, eat, laugh, and do all the things she wants, because He made her whole again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lindon and Iwana Kellum Riddle; brothers: Robert and Kenneth Riddle; sister-in-law, Bobbie Riddle. Glenna is survived by her sister, Gail Martin and husband Chuck; brother, Eddie Riddle; sister-in-law, Gayle Riddle; nephews: Rod, Stephen, and Stuart Hall; niece, Lori Whatley and husband Bruce; niece and nephew, Sherry and Kenny of Dallas; nephew, Kenny Riddle of Texarkana; and many cousins.

Graveside services for Ms. Glenna Carol McElhaney, age 73, of Linden, Texas, will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Bethlehem Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.  There will be a time of visitation with the family from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Special thanks to Kimberly Jones, her loving caregiver; her sweet friend, Jo; neighbors: Mr. Kelly Ray, Aurthur, and Miss Betty; and to Hospice Plus for all the care and prayers they gave Glenna during her illness.
