Grady Turner

Funeral services for Mr. Grady Turner, 84, of Ore City, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Coffeville Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Ore City Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.  There will be a time of visitation with family and friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the funeral home in Ore City.

Grady was born December 11, 1941, in Greenville, South Carolina, to Tink Turner and Hazel Finley Turner. He passed away July 22, 2026, in Tyler, Texas.

Grady worked for ARCO Oil and Gas for more than 30 years. He was a hard worker who never met a stranger and truly loved people. Known for being a cut-up, Grady enjoyed making others laugh and bringing a little fun wherever he went.

He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and he took great pride in tending to his chickens and cows. Grady also enjoyed his trips to Wal-Mart, where he never missed an opportunity to visit with others and maybe flirt with a few ladies.

Grady was a faithful member of Coffeeville Baptist Church and dearly loved his church family. He looked forward to Vacation Bible School each year, when he could cook for the children, and sneak a bite or two for himself along the way.

Lovingly known as “Pop,” Grady treasured his family and the time they shared. His humor and love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Grady was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Turner; his parents; brothers, James Turner, Clyde Turner and his wife, Gwen; and two sisters, Willie Mae Orr Carver and Marie Cater.

He is survived by his children, Randall Turner, Larry Turner, Traci Turner, Lisa Money and husband Pat, Nicole Scaglione and husband Alex, and Angel Hensley and husband Michael; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Peggy McPherson, Nell Bowen, and Reba Bowen; as well as a host of extended family members, church family, and dear friends.

Those wishing to honor Grady’s memory may make a memorial contribution to Coffeeville Baptist Church, a church and congregation he dearly loved.
