Greg Franklin passed away July 9, 2021 in Longview, Texas.

Greg, 48 years old, was born January 25, 1973 in Linden, Texas to Johnny Benjamin Franklin & Mary Katherine Ellison.

He was preceded in death by his father Johnny Franklin, grandparents, JD & Mary Belle Ellison; great grandparents, Bernice & Mary Elizabeth Suzan Ellison. Ollie & Mack Watkins; sister, Alicia Daniel Hughes; uncle Gary Ellison; cousins Chris and Jeff Ellison. 

Left to cherish his memory, everyone who loved him: his mother, Mary Ellison. Greg never had children of his own, he married two times. His first wife had 2 children that he raised as his own, Haley Fant and Alexander Blackwell. Haley was 1 1/2 years old when Greg came in her life and Alex since birth. His second wife had 2 children, Michael and Shandi Dunn and he helped raise and care for many more. Greg is also survived by his step-father, Randy Williford; step brother William Goodwin; aunt, Tona Ellison; cousins Kim & Bill Otis and children, Jamie Ellison and many more, Haley and Alex had children that he adored and loved so much: Addison, Hayvin, and Tayton Blackwell, Braxton & Mayson Martinez, Benjamin & Lillimae Billiot. A lot of people will cherish his memory. God had him working on a lot of people that he has made a huge impact on. RIP Gregory D Franklin.

A celebration of life service for Greg. D. Franklin will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. David Bond officiating.

  1. God it was literally just yesterday I was talking to Seth about his Uncle Greg and reminiscing about when he was little he gave you a black eye with the cue ball…. then I find out today you passed away. You will be missed fiercely Greg and know we will love and miss you so much.

  2. i'm really sad at the loss of this young man. i AM so thankful that he'd found Jesus Christ and his family must be so happy to know that he's gone to heaven and can watch over all of ya'll. prayers for this family
