Harold “Mike” Grimmett

July 5, 1945 ~ January 29, 2023

Harold Michael Grimmett, 77, affectionately known as “Mike” by friends and family, was born in Mescalero, New Mexico, on July 5, 1945. He graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1964.  After school he joined the Air Force in 1967 where he served until 1969.

After the Air Force, Mike found his career path as an electrician.  Over the years he worked at EDH Electric in Mt Pleasant and later at Lone Star Steel aka US Steel.  He worked many years for them and retired in 2013.

Mike loved the Lord, visiting with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was a member of the Hughes Springs Church of Christ where he served as an elder for many years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Harold and Willia Dean Grimmett; his wife, Jan Hill Grimmett and son, Matt Grimmett.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years,  Beverly Berry Grimmett; son, Jason Greene and wife Jenny, of Dallas, Texas; his daughter, Misty Andrews and husband Chris of Hughes Springs, Texas; his bonus daughter, Tina Moreno of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his daughter in law, Misty Grimmett Owens of White Oak, Texas; his brother, Laney Grimmett and wife, Debbie of Lewisville,  Texas; sister in law, Penny Hill Hollis of Hughes Springs, Texas; and grandson, Brenden Andrews of Hughes Springs, Texas; bonus grandchildren Tiffany Brewer, Brittny Jones and husband Doug, Kandace Brewer, Aubri Brewer of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Graydon Brewer of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs, Texas, followed by the celebration of his life at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will follow at a later date.
