Funeral services for Henry Charles H.C. Peppers, 92, of Hughes Springs will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Hughes Springs with Rev. George E. Whitmore officiating. Burial will follow at Love Chapel Cemetery in Hughes Springs under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Peppers was born March 10, 1919 and passed away Friday, September 9, at a Hughes Springs nursing center. He joined Love Chapel Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for 40 years and later joined Greater Love Baptist Church. Before World War II he went to Civil Conservation Corps for several years. He was employed at Lone Star Steel for 33 years until his retirement. He is preceded in death his parents Charlie and Mary Jane Peppers; one daughter Brenda Peppers Speights, two brothers Ocie Peppers and Otis Peppers; six sisters Annie Brannon, Levonia Neal, Isola Irvin, Wilma Crowder, Vera Lewis, and Bernice Edwards. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 22 years Malvia Peppers of Hughes Springs; one son Billy Peppers of Hughes Springs; three step-sons and daughters in law Joe and Mary Holloman, Laurence Holloman and Odis and Tonia Rushing all of Hughes Springs. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00, Friday evening at the funeral home.
