Funeral services for Helen Anderson, 74, of Hughes Springs will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs with Rev. Larry Neeley officiating. Burial will be at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Anderson was born February 26, 1934 in Paris, TX and graduated from Paris High School. She passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. She was a Baptist and a member of The Modern Study Club in Hughes Springs. She was involved with Conifer Council of Girl Scouts and family and friends. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Gina and Ken Niesman of Dallas, TX and Sissy and Mike Miller of Hughes Springs, TX; grandchildren Josh Miller of Longview, TX, Tyler Miller of Tyler, TX, Heather and her husband Brian Baker and Zachary Niesman all of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband Duane (Doc) Anderson, her father Roy Barber and her mother Jane Barber Thomas; one sister Lou Brackeen. She fought a hard battle everyday to enjoy life while being overcome by Alzheimers Disease. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory. Mrs. Anderson will lie in state Thursday, January 8th and the family will receive friends from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
