Helen Johnson Huffman, born on January 29, 1956, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away on August 23, 2024, in Longview, Texas. A devoted christian, Helen was known for her generous soul and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Lovingly nicknamed “Peewee”, as the oldest of seven children, Helen naturally took on the role of a second mother, tending to her siblings with care and compassion. Her deep love for her family and friends was evident in every aspect of her life. A great cook she was. Canning and reading were her hobbies. A simple cup of coffee was a simples pleasure she enjoyed. She was a good woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Maurine Johnson.
Helen is survived by her son, Ben Joseph Huffman, and his wife Jennifer of Hughes Springs, Texas; two daughters, Faith Huffman and Dosha Huffman Cantrell of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and her cherished grandchildren, Kristopher Avery Williams, Chloe , Cade and John, Alex Ryan, and Heather Huffman. She is also survived by her brothers, Carl Junior Johnson and his wife Jennifer of Avinger, James Wayne Johnson and his wife Candy of Linden, and William Johnson and his wife Charlotte of Linden; her sisters, Mary Lou Caldwell and her husband Randy of Diana, Carolyn Skipper and her husband Tommy of Daingerfield, and Laura Jane Johnson of Hughes Springs. Helen leaves behind a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will remember her for the good woman she was.
A memorial service to honor Helenβs life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Dalton Countryside Fellowship, located outside of Naples, Texas, on Highway 77.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
