Graveside services for Hugh "Mr.B' Butler, 83, of Avinger, TX will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 31 at Pyland Cemetery in Avinger with Rev. Phil Starrett officiating. Visitation will be Wedneday, July 30 from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. He was born July 13, 1925 in Bernice, LA and died July 28, 2008 in a Longview hospital. Survivors include his wife of 62 years Clara; two sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Stella Butler of Avinger and bo and Kim Butler of Sopher, OK; two daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and John Spencer and Ghena and Phil Starrett all of Avinger; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; one brother Jerry Butler of Sunland, CA; two sisters Toni Johnson of Dallas and LaJuana Foster of Shreveport, LA; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Butler was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Carter and two grandchildren Michael Granberry and LeAnna Jackson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pyland Cemetery Fund or an Alzheimer's Foundation.
