Imogene “Jean” Taylor, also lovingly known as Mema and Mamma Jean, was born on April 19, 1922 in Commerce, TX and went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 6, 2020 in Linden, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Jimmie; sons Gaza and Richard; grand-daughter Shelley; brothers Jim, Bill, Trumey, and Roy; and sisters Mattie May and Marcelle “Tot”; and husband, James C. Roberts.
She is survived by her daughter-in-laws Olga O’Bryant and Sandra O’Bryant; three grandchildren Monty O’Bryant and wife Beth, Rick O’Bryant and wife Michelle, and Kelly O’Bryant-Lamb and husband Bryan; seven great grandchildren Lela-Rae, Ryan, Alyssa, Aiden, Reagan, Austin, and Addyson; brother Rob Taylor; sister Sarah Krider, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends she dearly loved.
Jean was a strong-faith, strong-willed, fiercely independent Christian woman with a tremendous love for all. Her career as a nurse couldn’t have been more perfect as helping others was her passion and true calling in life. She had an infectious laugh, a smile that would light up the room, always seeing the good in others and a spirit filled with positive energy and love. She lived a complete life with some of her fondest memories including: singing with her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends, dancing, playing and dominating in dominoes and had a special bond with her fur-babies that accompanied her everywhere she went, truly being her “best friend”. She is loved, respected and truly admired by all those she knew and loved.
